It all started when…

Dr. Dooley went to veterinary school at St. George's University in the Caribbean island of Grenada. She had every intention of becoming an equine veterinarian until an anesthesia course in her 3rd year changed her mind.  While completing her fourth clinical year at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, she knew a career in anesthesia was in her future.

After completing a one year equine internship, Dr. Dooley matched to an anesthesia residency program at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. During her three year residency, Dr. Dooley completed primary research on buprenorphine in alpacas and took part in other research projects. She developed a special interest in management of cardiothoracic cases and loco-regional analgesic techniques. In her second year she was awarded with the Hospital Service Award for Resident Recognition. In her final year as a resident, she passed the written board examination and went on to successfully pass the oral component of the exam at its scheduled date a few months later, thereby awarding her the status of Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia.

Upon returning to her home state of New Jersey, Dr. Dooley founded Allied Veterinary Anesthesia Associates as a way to bring the expert anesthesia care frequently only found at academic institutions and large referral hospitals into veterinary hospitals across New Jersey. Now a resident of Philadelphia, Dr. Dooley is excited to provide anesthesia and pain management services to better fulfill the needs of veterinarians, pets, and pet owners of New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Outside her time working, Dr. Dooley enjoys outdoor adventures with her dog and spending as much time as possible with horses.
